This eighth volume of Marc Boney's collected articles contains researches on a wide range of topics beginning with Intimate Connections, which examines an oftentimes neglected aspect of Jyotiṣa; the way in which planets mutually influence when they are in angles or trines from each other.  If such planets are also in a good dignity, they can even give rāja yoga-like effects in their periods and sub-periods.  The Curse of Serpents is a commentary on a portion of a strange chapter in Pārāśara Horā, the main authoritative Sanskrit classic of Indian astrology, about combinations in a birth chart that can indicate childlessness or death of a child due to curses from a previous lifetime.  In A Steady and Comfortable Posture, Marc shows the correlation of the houses of the birth chart to the classical eight limbs of Yoga and demonstrates how the third limb, the physical postures, is indicated by the 3rd house.  This correlation is illustrated using the horoscopes of both world-famous Yoga teachers as well as celebrities well known for practicing yoga postures and extolling their benefits.  Salient Subtleties explores the significance in a horoscope of two planets that are in a nakṣatra exchange and are thus subtly but strongly connected.  Can such planets then form yogas such as rāja and dhana?  Marc shares his researches this way using the chart of many well-known personalities.  Cain and Abel is an article about assessing the static potential of a person’s karma in sibling relationships and a methodology for predicting the birth of younger siblings using a combination of the birth chart along with the divisional chart pertaining to siblings specifically, the dreṣkāṇa (D-3).  Bright Ideas is a unique astrological research on the charts of famous inventors in order to discover those astrological factors that they have in common and which can predict an inclination and talent this way.  For the first time, Marc explores the potential importance of the trans-Saturnian planet, Uranus, in contributing to this.

Within the vast ocean of knowledge that is the astrology of ancient India, the ashtakavarga system occupies a unique place for evaluating both the static potentials of a birth chart and for dynamically qualifying the effects of transits. In fact, there is saying in the tradition that to evaluate the effects of transits of planets without ashtakavarga is a criminal act. Ashatakavarga means "Eight-Fold Division" and refers to how eight factors distribute benefic points to other signs/houses from their natal position. This distribution results in a summary point total for each sign/house and an individual point total for each planet for every sign/house. The use of these totals for interpretation has many applications and can shed light on the strengths and weakness of a birth chart that may otherwise be hidden.

In this groundbreaking work, master jyotishi, Marc Boney, shares some of his original researches on the use of the dashamsha for predicting periods when a person is destined, based on their karmas, to achieve significantly and gain an elevated status in their life. These researches are presented in the form of 10 "Secrets"  or methods for identifying such periods, and these are profusely illustrated using both the charts of world famous personalities and those drawn from his own client files of successful predictions. Lastly, the author demonstrates how the dashamsha (D-10) can be utilized to rectify birth times. The Laghu Parashari is a Sanskrit classic of Jyotisha comprised of only 42 verses. Its authorship is unknown, as is the date when it was written. The text condenses into a very limited number of verses some of the most important interpretive principles of the Parashari predictive system. In particular, two sections of this treatise are very condensed versions of chapters in Parashara Hora having to do with yogakarakas and marakas. Thus, it primarily deals with the timing of very fortunate periods in a person's life when their status could increase, or very inauspicious times when there could be great suffering or even death if the lifespan has expired. The author of the Laghu Parashari extracts, as it were, some of the essence of Parashara Hora, and puts it in a concentrated form that is conducive to memorization. In this new commentary and translation, master jyotishi, Marc Boney explains and illustrates this important text in a detailed way never done before.
